Welcome to our online training portal. Our online courses can be access from anywhere in the world, and best of all they are free. All you need to complete these training sessions is internet access and speakers to listen to the lectures. We currently offer seven different training modules. We recommend that you start with training Module 1, An Overview of Young Worker Safety and Health to learn about the importance of keeping young workers safe on the job. From there, if you are an educator, employer, or parent, we recommended taking the Module 2: Employer/Teacher Training Module.
What you should expect while taking the training:
-Each training module ranges from 1-6 hours in length.
-Training modules can be stopped at any point and restarted at that point at a later date.
-Upon completion of each training module, there will be a survey. We value your input and want to continually improve our training. Make sure to fill the survey out and hit submit.
-There will be a customized, printable certificate at the end of each training for you to print out showing you completed the course.

The Center’s Training Modules:
Overview: Young Worker Safety and Health General Awareness Training
This one- to two-hour session focuses on the importance of young worker safety and health. In particular, this training covers young worker rights and US Department of Labor child laws. This training is designed for all audiences: young workers, employers, teachers, and parents of young workers.
Employer/Teacher: Young Worker Safety and Health Training for Instructors and Employers
This training provides employers and educators the resources they need to train young workers. The training covers the following topics: Young Worker Injuries and Illnesses, Identification of workplace hazards (including chemical, biological, safety, and other health hazards), Ways to reduce young worker injuries and illnesses, and Young worker rights and responsibilities- An overview of Young Worker Labor Laws.
Primer: A Safety and Health Primer for Young Workers
This training is designed for young workers, ages 14-24, as they enter the workforce. This 6-8 training covers the following topics: An introduction to young worker injuries and illnesses, Identification of workplace hazards (e.g., chemical, biological, safety, and other health hazards), Personal Protective Equipment, Young Worker Rights and Responsibilities, An overview of young worker labor laws, Finding a Voice- Speaking up and against workplace hazards, and Taking Action.
Subject Specific Training Modules
The Center also offers four different subject specific training modules. Each course is designed to be a one to two hour class focusing on a specific industry. The following trainings sessions are available:
-Young Worker Safety and Health Training for the Cosmetology Industry
-Young Worker Safety and Health Training for the Culinary Industry
-Young Worker Safety and Health Training for the Construction Industry
-Young Worker Safety and Health Training for the Healthcare Industry
